On this week's episode of Onboard Lifestyle, our haul out continues as the crew knocks item by item off the "to-do" list. Within the first eight days on the hard we were able to scrub and prep the bottom, strip the saildrives, repair the damaged rub rail, remove and prep the daggerboards, paint four coats of anti fouling on all wetted surfaces, and complete all of the routine saildrive maintenance. The process is tedious but is completed start to finish in two days using all synthetic materials. With not much time left, the crew will start the final projects before we launch. On this week's episode of Onboard Lifestyle, the crew prepares basik by painstakingly removing the hardened growth from her bottom. The process was monotonous but successful. The Kiwi props and zincs were removed as well and thoroughly clean. With her all cleaned up, it will be time to focus on the damaged rub rail. On this week's episode of Onboard Lifestyle, the crew was so involved with finishing up the synthetic rigging, the haul out date snuck up on us. With a nicely timed break in the wind, we shift gears and haul basik out of the water for the first time in 26 months. Everything ran smooth...until it didn't! With basik safely blocked up, it is time for this crew to get busy. Unfortunately we now have another unplanned repair to add to our routine maintenance list.
